Description
The Yankee Zephyr, a US Navy DC-3 Cargo plane, has been missing since Christmas 1944 when it dropped off the radar during a flight between New Guinea and New Zealand.
Forty years later Barney Whittiker (Ken Wahl) and Gibbie Gibson (Donald Pleasence) stumble upon the remains of the Yankee Zephyr on the upper slopes of New Zealand's Southern Alps. The two men and Gibbie's daughter Sally set out to salvage the cargo. But they are not alone in their quest. A shadowy group of businessmen led by Theo Brown (George Peppard) is following their every move.
